Stevie Wonder co-wrote the Michael Jackson hit “I Can’t Help It.”
I Can’t Help it | The song appears on Jackson’s 1979 album Off the Wall (track 8). It was written by Stevie Wonder and Susaye Greene (a former member of The Supremes). This marked one of the first collaborations between Wonder and Jackson after Jackson moved to Epic Record
Stevie Wonder is credited as a co-writer (along with Susaye Greene) on official sources like the album credits, Wikipedia’s Off the Wall page, Genius lyrics, and Michael Jackson’s wiki.
- Michael Jackson did not write it—he performed and recorded it, produced by Quincy Jones.
- Stevie Wonder has performed the song live himself on occasion, referring to it as one he wrote for Jackson.
- It’s a soulful, underrated gem from the album, often praised for Wonder’s melodic and harmonic contributions.
